Shield365 Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 21, 2026

Shield365 is a family safety and location-sharing application operated by Rescue Rangers (“Rescue Rangers,” “Shield365,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

Your privacy is important to us. Shield365 is designed to help families stay connected, locate loved ones and important belongings, and receive safety alerts while limiting access to personal information to the people and services necessary to provide these features.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Shield365 collects, how that information is used, how long it is retained, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, Shield365 may collect the following information.

Account Information

When you create or use a Shield365 account, we may collect information such as:

  • Your name

  • Email address

  • Account identifier

  • Group or family membership information

  • Subscription status

  • Application preferences and settings

Authentication information is processed using our authentication service providers. We do not intentionally store your account password in readable form on our servers.

Location Information

Shield365 is a location-based family safety application.

With your permission, Shield365 may collect your device's:

  • Precise GPS location

  • Latitude and longitude

  • Location timestamp

  • Speed

  • Direction or movement information

  • Location history

Shield365 may collect location information while:

  • You are actively using the app;

  • The app is running in the background;

  • Your device is locked;

  • Background location services are enabled and permitted by your operating system.

Background location is necessary for features such as continuous family location sharing, location history, virtual fence alerts, speed alerts, emergency features, and other safety functions.

Family and Group Information

Shield365 allows users to participate in private groups.

Information associated with groups may include:

  • Group name

  • Group membership

  • Group administrator

  • Member names

  • Member account identifiers

  • Rules created by a group administrator

Members of the same authorized group may be able to view each other's current or recent location information depending on the features and permissions enabled for that group.

Location information is not made publicly available.

Safety Rules and Alerts

Group administrators may create safety rules for specific members of a group.

These may include:

  • Speed alerts

  • Virtual fence entry alerts

  • Virtual fence exit alerts

  • Location-based rules

  • Days and times when a rule applies

A group administrator who creates a rule may receive a notification when a selected group member triggers that rule.

Creating a rule does not automatically make the administrator subject to that rule. Administrators are evaluated by a rule only if they are specifically included as a monitored member.

Motion and Safety Sensor Information

When enabled, Shield365 may use device motion and sensor information to provide safety features such as fall detection or movement-related alerts.

This may include information generated by:

  • Accelerometers

  • Gyroscopes

  • Motion sensors

  • Activity or movement detection services

Sensor information may be processed on the device to determine whether a possible safety event has occurred.

Bluetooth and Connected Device Information

Shield365 may communicate with Bluetooth-enabled safety or tracking devices.

We may process information such as:

  • Bluetooth device identifiers

  • Device names

  • Connection status

  • Signal information

  • Device configuration

  • Information reported by compatible connected devices

Bluetooth access may also be used to locate compatible personal items or communicate with Rescue Rangers hardware.

Vehicle and Ranger Device Information

If you connect a compatible Rescue Rangers Ranger device or other supported vehicle device, Shield365 may process information such as:

  • Device identifier

  • Vehicle name

  • Vehicle location

  • Speed

  • Movement information

  • Safety events

  • Device status

Emergency Information

If you use emergency or SOS features, Shield365 may process information necessary to provide those features, including:

  • Your current location

  • Emergency event information

  • Emergency contact names

  • Emergency contact phone numbers

  • Emergency contact email addresses

Emergency information may be transmitted to designated contacts or services when you specifically activate an emergency feature or when an enabled safety feature requires it.

Push Notification Information

Shield365 uses push notifications to deliver safety and account-related alerts.

We may store a device push-notification token provided by Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).

These tokens are used to deliver notifications such as:

  • Speed alerts

  • Virtual fence alerts

  • Emergency alerts

  • Safety notifications

  • Group-related notifications

  • Service-related messages

Device and Technical Information

We may automatically receive limited technical information necessary to operate and secure the service, including:

  • Device type

  • Operating system

  • App version

  • Device or installation identifiers

  • Network information

  • Error and diagnostic information

  • Authentication and session information

2. How We Use Information

We use information collected through Shield365 to:

  • Display your location to authorized members of your group;

  • Display authorized group members on the Shield365 map;

  • Maintain location history;

  • Provide background location sharing;

  • Detect virtual fence entry and exit events;

  • Detect speed-rule violations;

  • Deliver safety alerts and push notifications;

  • Provide emergency and SOS features;

  • Provide fall-detection and other safety functionality;

  • Connect to compatible Bluetooth and Rescue Rangers devices;

  • Manage family and group memberships;

  • Authenticate users and protect accounts;

  • Manage subscriptions;

  • Diagnose technical problems;

  • Prevent fraud, misuse, and unauthorized access;

  • Maintain and improve Shield365.

We do not use precise family location information to create advertising profiles.

3. Background Location

Background location is an important part of Shield365.

If you grant the required permissions, Shield365 may continue receiving and transmitting location information even when the application is not visible on the screen.

This enables features such as:

  • Continuous family location sharing

  • Virtual fence alerts

  • Speed alerts

  • Location history

  • Emergency location reporting

  • Safety-rule monitoring

You can control location access through your device's operating-system settings.

Disabling background location may prevent some Shield365 safety features from functioning correctly.

4. How Location Information Is Shared

Your Shield365 location is intended to be private.

Location information is made available only to:

  • You;

  • Authorized members of your Shield365 group;

  • Rescue Rangers systems and service providers when necessary to operate Shield365;

  • Other parties when you specifically direct us to share information; or

  • Authorities or other parties when disclosure is legally required.

Your precise location is not publicly posted.

We do not sell your precise location information.

5. Location History and Retention

Shield365 stores location history to provide features such as recent-location viewing and extended history.

Location history stored by Shield365 is retained for up to 30 days and is then deleted from our active location-history systems.

Some information may be retained for a shorter period.

Certain account, billing, security, or legally required records may be retained longer when necessary for legitimate business, security, accounting, or legal purposes.

6. Firebase and Cloud Services

Shield365 uses cloud infrastructure and services, including services provided by Google Firebase, to operate features such as:

  • User authentication

  • Realtime data synchronization

  • Group information

  • Safety rules

  • Push notification registration

  • Application configuration

Information processed through these services is subject to appropriate technical and organizational safeguards and the applicable service provider terms.

7. Apple and Google Services

Depending on your device, Shield365 may interact with services provided by Apple or Google, including:

  • Apple Push Notification Service

  • Firebase Cloud Messaging

  • Apple location services

  • Google location services

  • Google Maps

  • Apple App Store

  • Google Play

  • StoreKit

  • Google Play Billing

Subscription payments are processed by Apple or Google. Shield365 generally receives information about subscription status rather than your complete payment-card information.

Apple and Google may separately process information according to their own privacy policies.

8. Advertising and Tracking

Shield365 is primarily a family safety application and does not sell personal information for targeted advertising.

If a version of Shield365 requests permission to access an operating-system advertising or tracking identifier, such access will be subject to the permission controls provided by the operating system.

You may deny tracking permission without preventing Shield365's core family-location functionality from operating.

9. Data We Do Not Sell

Rescue Rangers does not sell your personal information, precise location history, family-location information, or emergency-contact information to advertisers or data brokers.

We also do not permit advertisers to access your private Shield365 family-group location information.

10. Service Providers

We may use third-party service providers to help us operate Shield365.

These providers may process information only as necessary to provide services such as:

  • Hosting

  • Database operation

  • Authentication

  • Maps and location services

  • Push notifications

  • Subscription processing

  • Application security

  • Technical infrastructure

We require service providers to handle information according to applicable contractual and legal obligations.

11. Legal Disclosures

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law;

  • Respond to a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or other lawful request;

  • Protect the safety of a Shield365 user or another person;

  • Investigate fraud or abuse;

  • Protect the rights, property, or security of Rescue Rangers, Shield365, our users, or the public.

We do not provide private location information to third parties simply upon informal request.

12. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

These measures may include:

  • Authentication controls

  • Access restrictions

  • Encrypted network communications

  • Private group membership controls

  • Secure cloud infrastructure

However, no internet-connected system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users should protect their Shield365 account credentials and immediately notify us if they believe their account has been compromised.

13. Your Choices and Controls

Depending on your device and applicable law, you may have the ability to:

  • Disable precise location access;

  • Disable background location access;

  • Disable Bluetooth access;

  • Disable motion or activity access;

  • Disable notifications;

  • Leave a Shield365 group;

  • Remove certain connected devices;

  • Update account information;

  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal information.

Some permissions are necessary for specific Shield365 features.

For example, disabling background location may prevent virtual fences, speed alerts, continuous family location sharing, and other safety features from functioning reliably.

14. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your Shield365 account.

When an account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize personal information associated with that account when reasonably possible, subject to information we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or operational reasons.

Location history is independently subject to our maximum 30-day retention period described above.

15. Children's Privacy and Family Accounts

Shield365 is designed for family safety and may be used by parents or guardians to help protect and locate their children.

Where Shield365 is used by a child who is below the age at which they can independently consent to data processing under applicable law, a parent or legal guardian must authorize the child's use of the service.

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring they have the legal authority to enable location sharing and safety monitoring for minors in their family group.

We do not knowingly use children's precise location information for advertising.

16. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights regarding their personal information.

Depending on where you live, these may include rights to:

  • Know what personal information we collect;

  • Request access to personal information;

  • Request correction of inaccurate information;

  • Request deletion of personal information;

  • Obtain a copy of certain personal information;

  • Opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information.

Shield365 does not sell precise location information or family-location data.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.

17. International Users

Shield365 may process information using infrastructure located in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

If you access Shield365 from outside the United States, information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions whose privacy laws differ from those in your country.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Shield365 evolves or as legal requirements change.

When significant changes are made, we may provide notice through the application, our website, email, or another appropriate method.

The effective date at the top of this policy indicates when it was most recently updated.
